Michelle Rose Lemay interprets tarot card readings. A clairvoyant and healer, the Carignan resident wants above all to be of service to others. While avoiding charlatanism.

It all started in a store in downtown Montreal. “I was walking through the book section when a box of tarot cards fell in front of me. No one had touched it,” says Michelle Rose Lemay. “I took it as a message from the universe. I already knew I was intuitive, and then it was love at first sight! This message meant that I had to get involved in tarot.”

“In life, we can find ourselves at a crossroads, and tarot can serve as a guide. My goal is to make myself useful.” — Michelle Rose Lemay

The psychic claims she can predict the future by analyzing the draw of the cards. “Yes, I do to a certain extent. I stick to predictions for the current year, for better accuracy. I try to be as rational as possible, because people find it hard to believe in anything mysterious. Tarot is very concrete; it’s not magic. ‘The way it works is a mixture of acquired and innate skills. "I’ve worked hard to improve my ability. When I draw the cards, I read their message. Then I refer to my intuition, which has been sharp since birth. The messages become clearer and clearer. It’s like turning the frequency knob on a radio until I get good reception. Some people hear nothing, but I can hear what is being said. ”

When drawing the cards, there is no mysterious atmosphere or drawn curtains. We remain as natural as possible while focusing on the subject we want to address. First, we ask a question about life in general. “Do you have a professional project? It looks like a change is coming. ” And from there, the discussion begins with the specific placement of the cards and our own feelings. Do we understand the messages being communicated? It could be likened to psychoanalysis because the most personal topics are addressed. When it comes to specifics, the psychic doesn’t hesitate to get straight to the point. Michelle Rose Lemay draws a card, listens carefully, then falls silent. “I sense energies that can confirm or embellish the message of the cards.”

“Oh, I see! You’re in a relationship. Your partner is a very sensitive person, isn’t he?”  “If necessary, it is possible to draw another card for more details.”People come to me for answers, “continues the psychic. It’s normal to take a little time sometimes to dig deeper if a situation requires it. Tarot is concrete.”

Charlatanism exists

During her consultations, Michelle Rose Lemay focuses primarily on one question. “I want to help people prepare for their future. Some are in dire straits, others have an important decision to make, and a final group comes out of curiosity and would even like to become tarot readers themselves. In life, we can find ourselves at a crossroads, and tarot can serve as a guide. My goal is to be helpful.”

With the mystery surrounding tarot cards comes charlatanism. Michelle Rose Lemay confirms this. “I’ve had my cards read by people who promised me I would live to be 100 or have exceptional fortune. Sometimes they set up a backdrop or put on a cape, but it doesn’t really serve much purpose. My father didn’t really believe in it, but one day he asked me to read his cards. I was able to read two secrets that no one knew. He asked me, "How do you do that?" I replied, "it‘s written in the cards."

Michelle Rose Lemay, Reiki Master, organizes psychic classes to help people develop their potential. People attend for a variety of reasons.

Reiki Master Michelle Rose Lemay has invited several of her clients to attend psychic and spiritual development classes.

“I'm exploring different career ideas, so I want to tap into my intuition,” explains Tina, from Saint-Mathias-sur-Richelieu. “I'm putting myself in introspective mode to get to know myself better. It could be interesting, and I'm open to accessing other energies.” "

“It's good to work on your skills; it saves you from having to go to a psychic to find out about your life.” – France Gauthier

Amy comes from Saint-Bruno to participate in these classes. “I want to get to know myself better. That means learning to differentiate between my intuition and my intrusive thoughts.” Finally, Suzanne wants to go even further. “I've always believed in mediums. I've been told that everyone can be one to some degree, so I want to see if that applies to me.”

Need to believe

The program includes games designed to develop sensitivity, whether through sight, touch, or hearing. “It's good to work on your abilities; it saves you from having to go to a psychic to find out about your life,” says France Gauthier, a former journalist and lecturer on tools for awakening and spirituality. Each of us is a bit of a medium. A psychic may say something that will never happen in your life because you have taken a different direction. That doesn't mean they were wrong."

Raphaël Mathieu Legault-Laberge, academic coordinator at the Centre for Contemporary Religious Studies at the University of Sherbrooke, has mixed feelings. "We shouldn't be closed-minded about these kinds of activities, but we also need to maintain a certain degree of skepticism. It's helpful for some people to believe in them. People need to believe, and in this case, believing is as important as knowing. I once went to a stone and crystal fair, where some stones are supposed to have special powers, and there were 10,000 people there!"

The academic believes that the supernatural could exist. "There is still a certain danger with extreme metaphysical views. Not all mediums are charlatans, but at one time, these activities were banned in Canada. Similar phenomena exist in other cultures, such as in Brazil. There is a long history between humans and spiritualism. We are rational beings, and while we can believe in it, we must still keep an open mind."
